Applications

STRENX 650 MC (QSTE 650 TM), STRENX 700 MC, STRENX 700 MC Plus, STRENX 900 MC, STRENX 960 MC and STRENX 1100 MC steels are used especially to make bent construction parts, including::

Industrial vehicle chassis and side members
Concrete pumps
Box section crane arms
Bridge and industrial building frameworks
Tipper truck decks and sides

Workability

Excellent cold deformation properties, including in case of particularly severe bend radius.
This steel is not suitable for hot working, because an excessive thermal input could irreversibly alter its mechanical characteristics.

Weldability

STRENX 650 MC, STRENX 700 MC, STRENX 700 MC Plus, STRENX 900 QC, STRENX 960 MC and STRENX 1100 MC steels are easy to weld, both manually and automatically. A chemical analysis shows that the average carbon equivalent value corresponds to 0.35% for STRENX 650 MC, STRENX 700 MC and STRENX 700 MC Plus and 0.45% for STRENX 900 MC, STRENX 960 MC and STRENX 1100 MC. When setting welding conditions, always make sure that the heat input is kept as low as possible.
