Applications
Laser-cutting quality
The right chemical composition, the good surface quality, the lack of rust, the good level of flatness, the low residual internal stresses make these steels highly suitable for laser cutting.
In LASER plates, the optimal cutting speed is approximately thirty percent higher than in standard steels.
This difference is even more significant in low thicknesses. The low content of silicon, manganese and carbon, as well as of impurities for phosphorous and sulphur, allow to obtain excellent finishes on the cut edges.
The lack of cutting defects increases cut precision and the range of possible applications.
Weldability
LASER steels are fine-grain steels with a low carbon equivalent content and can therefore be easily welded with all welding techniques.
Formability
The uniform quality and low content of carbon and sulphur make LASER steels highly suitable for forming.
The reduced curvature radii make bending easier in both plate directions and allow for cold forming.
Galvanisability
The low silicon content makes for ideal conditions for galvanisation.
Cutting parameters
The uniform quality features simplify the setting of cutting parameters.
